*Summer Power gRRRls 2013*

Empowering Teen Girls to Become Tomorrow’s Leaders

Summer Power gRRRls will be an empowering, interactive and intensely creative two-week  summer theatre and leadership camp for teen girls,

ages 14-18 with a love of performance and an interest in social justice.

All gRRRls must be entering 8th-12th grade in the fall of 2012.

Power gRRRls values young women as powerful and unique resources

for creating change. We envision a world where young women with strong, positive voices become active, passionately engaged leaders

in their community.

Gas & Electric Arts courageously explores multi-disciplinary theatrical forms on stage and in communities as our means of responding to an

ever-changing world. Gas & Electric Arts is based in Mt. Airy PA.

Over 2 weeks of theater workshops, the gRRRls will:

  1. Bullet   Work directly with the Artistic Director of Gas & Electric Arts who has been training teens and championing their powerful ideas for more than two decades!

  1. Bullet   Jump into playful yet powerful team-building and creative conflict-resolution activities created by Nobel Peace Prize finalist Augusto Boal.

  1. Bullet    Learn exciting improvisational theatre games, performance techniques and social change activities to investigate personal and social situations of injustice, and innovate ideas for changing them.

  1. Bullet   Unlock creativity through storytelling, autobiographical and creative writing.

  1. Bullet   Develop characters and theatrical stories rooted in real life stories through acting, movement, physical theater and voice techniques.
